All About Mackenzie

What a blessing to have my daughter.

I always said i really didn't care if i had boys or girls, but i figured i would be a better "boy mom" just cuz i was a tom boy as a kid and i lack the essence of a woman as an adult.

But God has a plan and knew exactly what He was doing when He planted her seed in my belly. She is my loyal friend. She is my magic. She is the one who reminds me to fill up each day.

Mackenzie has become 95% girl. She absolutely loves dressing up and putting on make-up. One morning she said she needed to put on make-up so she could look pretty. Ummm... whoa! I'm thinking, "You are only 4 years old!!!" So i had to explain that make-up makes you fancy... no make-up and a smile is what makes you pretty. She carries lip balm around in her pocket and reapplies every 1/2 hour. She loves shoes and dresses herself every single morning. And let me tell you she puts together the CUTEST outfits!

She just learned how to be upside down on the bar, how to unbuckle her own car seat belt (i stood there for 10 minutes while she said, "Mommy, watch again. I can do it!"), and she learned how to draw a rainbow with all the colors.

She is my culinary side kick. She stirs, she seasons, she even reads the pictures on the box for recipe interpretation. She is happiest when she is close to someone. She writes her name, she "reads" books all the time (i will have to record her reading), and she concentrates on the hop part of skipping. She believes so much in fairies that she built a fairy house in our dormant garden. She can be an emotional train wreck at the drop of a hat yet she still sings and dances and has the most contagious, happy, belly laugh EVER!

She just started ballet this month and honestly she looks like a tom boy trying to kick a field goal rather than a princess doing a toe kick. But i really love watching her dance around imagining that she is a fairy princess. I hope all my daughter's dreams come true! I hope she continues to find magic in her days. She continues to bring magic to mine. She is an amazing soul that has completely enriched my life. i love you kenz.
